- RichardinME: @traderbren $MCD This is almost identical to the $CMG incident 6 years ago. I think about 50 got sick but nobody died. 1 death is tragic but I think this blows over like $CMG. MCD's biggest problem IMO is margins. How much can they make selling 5 dollar meals when they have a starting wage in many places of 20 per hour? This might all be wrong though. The talking heads on CNBC keep talking about how MCD will be screwed if they lose the low-income customer. I see a lot of restaurants backed up with some nice, new, 100k + vehicles. Many are spending 30 bucks or more for two people. Then again, I live in a tourist area so i'm sure demographics vary largely from store to store.

- RichardinME: @Henry $CAVA Considering this was 30 bucks last year, it does not seem insane that this could be a 300-dollar stock next year if the market participates. No resistance. Could turn into the next $CMG. Maybe wait for a pull back or sell some puts to get it a little cheaper? I would just like to know what a good stop would be. Maybe yesterday's low or a little below 100? I'm asking as I really don't know but seems like a good way to risk 10 percent or less to possibly participate in a stock that could double in less than a year?
- RichardinME: @curtis $CAVA Would be nice to get this at 75 but I can remember when the talking heads on CNBC were saying $CMG and $NFLX were good but had come too far too fast and this was about 15 years ago. I missed the interview, but this seems like a stock that could have exponential growth. I just wonder if buying at this level would work with a stop right below 100?

Sometimes this helps but look at what the added liquidly did to $CMG price? Completely different stocks but maybe smaller share price is adversely affecting share price?

- phgruver: @joelsg1 $CMG #Chipotle #1 The "revenge" is a result of unsafe food handling practices. I wouldn't go back to THAT restaurant. Several people have commented on the portions being smaller, but that's just part of controlling costs.

- woodman: @joelsg1 $CMG #Chipotle #1 - I litigated individual cases and two collective actions (one a nationwide), well as hundreds of arbitrations, against Chipotle over a 7 year period for failure to pay wages to hourly employees. Sadly, my son likes Chipotle. I think I need to wear a hoodie when I (very rarely) go in one of their restaurants. My local mexican restaurants are far better, and I'd much rather patronize local owners.
- RichardinME: @Cjauger $CRWD It's interesting. Terranova and one other contributor on Fast Money Half Time did not call a bottom but were bullish. Delta never recovered but might have if it did not continue to have incidents 5 years after the initial 2 crashes. $CMG did recover and made all time highs and I don't think anyone even remembers the food incident anymore. And with $CMG it's not like people did not have other options. $CRWD is arguably the "best" but even if not it's not as replaceable as $CMG was.

- RichardinME: @marklesparkle $CRWD I was trying to think of similar examples with other equities. $CMG lost I think about half of it's value and was trading in the 300's before recovering to over 2000 before the split of course hundreds did not die. $BA we all know that was trading at 400 or so before the first crash, went down to about 100 and is still in no mans land. $CRWD may or may not ever get their customers confidence back but are there alternatives? With BA, there is Airbus, with CMG, well, they never killed anyone, and CRWD, we don't know how long this will drag on

I remember that $IBM used to split whenever it got to $145, to keep the price closer to $70/share. This was was partly for affordability, but also to allow long term holders to sell a few shares without feeling like they were selling out of their position. Side note: those splits are how I wound up "overweight" in $IBM stock. I'm still not selling, though. Those dividends are helping finance my retirement....

- Cjauger: @dgrobo $cava My wife and I love this restaurant. Business model just like $CMG. Half the bowl is rice, beens, and or greens (lots of volume low cost). Then you get the good stuff on top (chicken, lamb, and they just added grilled steak), price $15 to $25 per bowl with a drink (they have this cucumber mint drink that is amazing). Love the margins. I sold too soon, but got another chance to buy it on the earnings dip was watching it as it reversed.

- Henry: $CMG I bought some a month ago hoping to add lower and afraid to buy before earnings. I did not add yesterday as so many breakouts fail. The proxy for shareholders to approve the stock split came this week. The split doesn't happen June 24th Price targets are Loop Cappital $2,920 to Argus at $3,503. That 3 dollars is cutting you estimate with a scalpel if not microsurgery.

The S&P is still below the 50-day moving average which is typically the place where traders will short the market. I\'m not saying that this WILL happen...I\'m just saying that it DOES happen. $NVDA regained the 50-day moving average on just slightly higher-than-average volume. $CAVA rebounded hard off the 50-day moving average on more than double average volume. $META looks like it\'s in jail between $450 - $420. $CMG is up for the second straight day on higher volume after reporting strong earnings. (Riley, my Mexican Street Dog, is very happy about the price action in Chipotle. That\'s where we found her and she\'s still a bit nostalgic.) Have a good weekend. --Dan
