  • Docoof: $ICLR breaking out on big volume
  • sierramp: @Docoof $ICLR Added to IBD LeaderBoard.
  • woodman: $ICLR in phase 3, but needs to get through 123.53.
  • woodman: $ICLR - broke out on earnings. Little pullback the next few days into a flag. Looking for potential phase 3 move up.
  • Bridget: ...
$ICLR - phase 2, giving you an entry
$DWDP - phase 2, giving you an entry
  • woodman: $ICLR breaking out of v/s.
  • woodman: $ICLR - moving harder out of v/s. Who knows if it sustains this move, but we have Day 1.
  • bsafriet: @woodman $ICLR Reported ER this morning before the open. Beat by $0.03, revs in-line, raises FY17 EPS in-line and reaffirms FY-17 guidance. Nice move for a not so exciting report. Unusual these days.
  • bsafriet: @woodman $ICLR 54.53M she’s outstanding, 98.11% Inst owned, leaving 1.031M shares in float. Short interest was 1.25M as of 10/13/17. Looks like a short squeeze. Vol today as of 11:57 430.92K vs 10 avg daily vol of 350.63. Be careful out there
  • issues: added to $ICLR (institutional buying, BO of a long vol squeeze = strong as life!) Bought starter in $CTRL (stop in place) and $MSCI. Added to $ABMD. Sold some $BIVV $YRD $KEM. Thanks for the excellent posts! You guy are the greatest. More brains working together means more combined wisdom!
  • woodman: @issues $ABMD $ICLR $KEM - The dip in $ABMD yesterday, just before the earnings announcement, was a gift. $ICLR is today's gift. And $KEM, in my conjecturing opinion, will be a gift very soon, particularly if it gets to the 50 day. Earnings on 11/2. I still have a small amount as a reminder. And I may just buy more and hold through earnings, particularly if it gets down to the 50day. That will be a 17% pullback from last week, so that may be enough to think bad earnings are baked in. My thinking will evolve on KEM between now and then.
  • rachel: ...
    19. $ICLR -- VS breakout after earnings.
  • bRobert: $ICLR Squeezing. Q PRAH related
  • issues: Sold 1/2 $STZ and bought small positions in $RCL ($NVDA b/c higher low) $AAPL $ICLR. B/c I bought small I don't have any stops in place yet. Look for a higher low tomorrow on NVDA!
  • issues: @audrina0904 $ESNT It's very choppy - like a meat cutter. 1/2 position. I sold $ICLR when it was headed down. Now it's up big. I am not going to do that with $PI $AAOI $ANET $AMAT $AEIS etc.
  • JBed: $ICLR I got an alert from IBD Swing Trader about this stock today. Might be worth taking a look at.
  • eaglEye: $ICLR one to watch, Also $IPHS
  • issues: $ICLR I looked at the one year chart for ICLR (Med research). Notice the gap downs on earnings reports. This was at the proverbial top (like 4 times.... duh). So knowing earnings was after hours last night I thought of brother Dan's sage advice to not hold over earnings (and I am not blaming Dan for my mistakes,) So I sold my 1/2 position. I looked at the earnings and they beat by a penny (which is always what they do.) No big deal, right? You would have sold too, right? Then why did the stock JUMP? Now I'm thinking of buy back 1/4 position because of the long volume squeeze... What do anyone of you think?
  • DAN: @issues $ICLR Now up more than 7%. Hmmm. If you regret selling and want to get back in, then maybe buy 1/4 position now...with a tight stop below, say $83.50. If the stock falls that low, then you probably don't want to own it here.

    I don't think ...
  • issues: @DAN $ICLR Dan! I am so happy to get this message from you! I am encouraged with your wise words. I keep looking to you for that encouragement to hang in there! I need that, otherwise I would be tempted to sell sell sell. So I thank you. I've been listening to you for many many years and really appreciate your insights. Please keep going brother! By year end we will celebrate with you, ok?
  • issues: Bought $NUGT (starter) & $LULU. Sold $LABU $MANH $ICLR $XTLY
  • issues: @mikepbss $ILMN same IBD category (Med Research) as $PRAH $ICLR $CRL $PRXL$INCR $ILMN $MEDP & $Q; Best IBD ratings in group $PRAH (composite 95 ; accumulation A-; We own ICLR but would like to buy $PRAH- it's just a little high right now.
  • issues: $ICLR missed by a penny. I evaluate a stock by increasing expected quarterly earnings. Ameritrade shows $1.15 $1.19 $1.26, pretty nice. I want more $ICLR but will wait to see the green (as in money) day. $ICLR is in IBD industry group 49 with others $INCR $PRAH $CRL $ILMN (which I bought. This may be phase two for $ILMN...). But as a whole this is a good group! Medical research.
  • issues: The IBD 50 sure changed dramatically this week. There are 25 new stocks replacing 25 from last weeks. The new ones are ones that didn't go down as much (more than going up so much) This shows a very defensive stance the market has taken. Here's the IBD 50 list for today $ABC $AET $AMCX $ANET $CALM $CDW $CELG $CNC $CPB $CRI $CRL $CTXS $DG $DY $ELLI $EPAM $EQM $EW $FL $GGAL $HA $HAWK $HII $ICLR $IDTI $ITC $LGND $LNKD $MYGN $NKE $NTES $NUAN $OLED $PLAY $PRXL $REGN $RHT $ROST $SIG $STE $STZ $SWHC $TDG $TSO $ULTA $VEEV $WBMD $XRS $YY

  • Bridget: $ICLR nice breakout yesterday on volume. Pulled back a bit and now giving you a decent entry. Bit of a sloppy inverted head and shoulders gives you a projected profit target of $81. Options are very liquid with wide spreads though.
  • issues: I'm glad I didn't sell $ICLR. I didn't even put in a stop. It looks more like a buy today than a sell.
  • issues: $IDTI reported yesterday with a .02 cent beat. Big Deal. But my $ICLR had a one cent beat and is getting slaughtered - down 10%. Go figure. I vaguely remember Dan mentioning ICLR but I don't want to go check my notes. Anyone remember this one? I still like it b/c of good increase in expected earnings. It was taken off IBD 50 last week but was on IBD 50 for many weeks.
  • DAN: @issues $IDTI $ICLR ICLR has broken support at the 200-day moving average. You don't want to be owning this.
  • issues: @DAN $IDTI $ICLR ok thank you Dan. Now how to sell. I like your idea of putting in a stop. So I am looking at just below the low ($63.45) today say, $63?

  • woodman: $ICLR - IBD stock that caught my eye on the pullback to the 200 day. Also recently mentioned by Dan. I started a position yesterday. Moving up out of a cluster at the 200 day and small wedge.

Seen this several times ; I'm just as confused the last time I asked this question a few months back.
  • blueberryman: The repost makes these tickers accessible to the SMM chart and forum news through the addition of the $ sign is my guess. @GreenGhost $DY $ICLR $UVE $HA $NKE $TSO $ABG $AOS $CBM $CDNS $CELG $CMG $CTSH $CYBR $EFX $FB $GOOGL $HAWK $MANH $MASI $MENT $NTES $ORLY $OZRK $PAYC $PZZA $SBUX $SSNC $TSCO $ULTA $V

That doesn't make a lot of sense to me at least. If that's the case why doesn't Aragon just add the $ symbol in front of his listed stocks in his original posts like everyone else? Those posts BTW are very much appreciated and a great place to look for trades; he obviously spends a lot of effort to do those screens.
  • EasyOut: @GreenGhost $DY $ICLR $UVE $HA $NKE $TSO $ABG $AOS $CBM $CDNS $CELG $CMG $CTSH $CYBR $EFX $FB $GOOGL $HAWK $MANH $MASI $MENT $NTES $ORLY $OZRK $PAYC $PZZA $SBUX $SSNC $TSCO $ULTA $V @Blueberryman is correct. It is Aragorn's list of stocks and I have added the $ so the quick view charts can be seen. Just trying to be a help to others in the forum. Sorry if I caused confusion. I am a reader of the forum trying to learn and do appreciate your informative posts. Thanks.

You shouldn't have to waste your time doing that. The forum protocol has been and continues to be since inception put the dollar sign in front of the stocks one posts.
  • gbrock: Of 64 biotech-pharma-healthcare stocks I sometimes follow, 32 are now below 50 & 200 dma. 26 are between the 50 and 200. Only six are above both MA's. $ANAC, $ICLR, $INCY, $KMPH, $QURE, & $SRPT How things have changed in the last 30-45 days! Now looking for bargains to put cash back to work. I like $NTI, $XOM, and $VGR for dividends.

  • DAN: Hey @barbjim12. I typically don't publish my long term holdings because I want to avoid the "Are you still in it?" and "Why did you buy this one?" questions. I've done it before and it's a nightmare -- very difficult for me to manage because each member is different. With that said, here are some of my long term holdings: $AFL, $ANSS, $APA, $CPB, $CBL CELG, $CIEN, $COV, $CVS, $ELNK, $EMC, $EPD, $FDX, $FLS, $ICLR, $JCI, $KELYA, $MTW, $PRXL, $QCOM, $SUNE, $TTWO, $TXT, $TRN, $URI and XLNX. • rippashred: Since this is the 3rd day. (thanks @Lou) I need to resist the urge to buy into this...I have been watching $ICLR for the breakout, and this morning it moved above 23, but has pulled back since. Is this a valid signal?
  • rippashred: @rs1607: $JAH, haha, i wish that i got in around 17.50, i was in earlier just above 18 and was getting worried when it dropped to the 17.50 level. Glad to know we're in it together. Go JAH! Check $ICLR also, today is pretty good confirmation of the breakout. This morning looked doubtful, but now looks good. What do you think?
  • cmac: re- $ICLR not bad chart. upgrade today. @Dan last night discussed breakout plays just not working, and I agree (plenty of firsthand experience unfortunately). I'd watch for break of 22.50 on big volume (like 800k or more) Also, watching DLLR. Nice chart consolidating last move about 1 month ago. Would like to start position around 13.25 area. Sorry I'm posting too much today....doing this in boring market keeps my mind engaged.
  • rippashred: $ICLR - based on @Dan's recap video tonight, do you think ICLR's chart sets up like JNJ's? Since it squeezed up against the 200 day EMA and broke above today.
  • milt: Recession plays? From my stock screens the following stocks ended up in the green or were green a good bit of the day and ended closing with little damage today (e.g., XLV): $BCR, $ABT, $PG, $XLV, $GAS, $BAX, $ALXN, $THOR, $ICLR, $LHCG, $SXE (the last two I own), EQ, KFT, $JNJ, ACV Pattern: drugs, consumer goods mostly $RDY, TCL - couple India stocks. $RDY has been a loser for me; its a starter position. TCL - volatile stock, only own 1 share. Its my high speep telecom line play for India.
  • iancleghorn: Nice pair of Bollinger Bands there! Bands expanding for $ICLR (Biotech testing. Paid whether the brew proves to be good or bad) and MAINT (Technologies and solutions for mission-critical national security programs. Paid whether the program works or screws up.) @Ian
  • Gabe: Here are some stock that I'm watching: $AEM APA $ATEC CF $CNX DAR $DBA DBC $ICLR ILMN $MCF MTL $NEU PBR PCX POT $RTN TEVA $TIP I follow a lot more, so I just picked the ones I like the most now. Ideally, I'd like them to pull back to support (preferrably 50DMA), hold there, and then I'd like to buy them on a higher-volume breakout (not today). If someone sees some serious fundamental issues with my picks, please let me know. Of course life is not ideal, so I'll stay flexible. Note that this is not a bullish call on the overall market, that just looks terrible now. Congrats to the shorts this week, I wasn't brave enough to keep my shorts like I should have. Long: $AEM, $RTN, $TIP, others not mentioned, but still heavy cash. Everyone have a good weekend!
  • Gabe: Hey Team, in case we get higher lows today, here are some nice long chart plays. They are just that, nice charts, so do your own homework. And I don't want to contradict with @Dan, so I do not suggest any buying, make your own decisions. I do not own any of them yet. Long chart plays ================ $DBA GENZ $GG HMSY $ICLR INCY $RICK SLW $TEVA TRLG Long chart watchlist ==================== $AEO AFSI $ASA BLK $IMAX LNN $XNPT
  • evanesce: CVD: an old favorite of mine that I [regrettably] stopped following. Nice one, Underdog! It's now surpassed its former big brother in the testing sector, PPDI, which lost a lot of market value in July but has now recovered nicely from the plunge. Ditto for $CRL and $ICLR - I really like it when a sector starts moving.
